Atlantik Elektronik offers complete IP-video solutions using cellular routers and gateways by Digi International and IP-cameras from AXIS.

The new compression algorithm H.264, successor of the MPEG-4 codec, the necessary bandwidth can be reduced by other 50%  against MPEG-4. Now you are able to transmit images of good quality via EDGE respectively GPRS data channels even in areas whitout UMTS overage.

This solution can be found in areas of public transport and railway operators for visual observation of stops and train stations, in the area of tracks and lines or security applications, if there is no cabeling present or the installation of such is too expensive.

For railway operators, who want to install a video application within their own GSM-R infrastructure, fully new applications areas appear. Such as temporarily monitoring of construction progress, observation of tunnel entraces or observation of other distributed locations.
